De Risin'- Adriana S. King

It mus be hard watching de walls tumble.
It must be harder listening to bull dozers rumble;
in the yard next door to see country bookie
putting up wall house spoiling yo scenery.

Ah know it must hurt yo real bad, yo still cant see
How all man jack have picney ah read fo degree;
To come home and tek dey modder out yo kitchen.
Ah know yo puzzled, ah kno yo hear the clock tickin.

There is an old saying that goes- "when yo think is bush, ah people!".

It simply means that at times when you think you are alone, you are not. You might think  that no one is around...no one is seeing you, so you___________ . I am sure you could fill in the blank.

I am not sure why we do this, but we do.

The fact is, even at moments when you can not see anyone there might be someone looking at you; imagine walking down a busy street, trust me somebody is watching you.

Life is not always fair.  I’m sure you’ve heard that before or even said so yourself.  Yes, bad things do happen to good people.   Sounding clichéd, right?  I know, but sometimes in a happy place you just forget about clichés and if they help you to treasure the moment, then so be it.  I’ve come to realise that in everything, no matter how low, sad, crazy or difficult it gets, there’s always a happy place.

Women Are the Richer Sex -- the Back Story Behind Those Headlines

 By Barbara Stanny

Heard the latest?  The media’s all aflutter over a new book by Liza Mundy, “The Richer Sex.”  Even Time magazine‘s latest cover exclaims: “Women are overtaking men as America’s breadwinners!!”
Women are doing it differently
Women are doing it differently

Naturally, I’m thrilled.  But  what’s really newsworthy is not so much what women are achieving, as how they are doing it.

Yum yum

So today I was wondering what if the ex of my best friend (if my best friend were a girl) were to approach me and say' "...let's get together, I think we can work"; what would I do?

I would do what I would with any other guy; simply ask him- "Why?"

Then, if he gives a good answer, and I am intrigued because I am attracted to him too then I would think of other things like:

The Hidden Danger of The Honeymoon Phase

There is probably nothing in life so wonderful, so magical, so delicious as the way you feel the first few weeks or months when you’re falling in love.

The world looks more beautiful. You’re filled with optimism and excitement about each day. Even food tastes more amazing (if you have an appetite, that is — you may feel you could subsist on love alone!). In short, each day is pure bliss. And all because you’ve found the person who really “gets” you… the person you were meant to be with.

Welcome, my friend, to The Honeymoon Phase.

5 (More) Lessons About Men I’ve Learned from Little Boys

By Paige Parker

Click here for the original post

You could say it’s my job (as a dating coach) to try to understand men and, in the process, help YOU do the same…But, truth be told, it’s more of an obsession.

I can’t walk down the street without studying the way men walk; How they do a double-take when they notice an attractive woman.

I can’t watch an episode of reality TV (read: The Bachelor) without analyzing what motivates the contestants to make the decisions they make.

“Empower Rural Women – End Hunger and Poverty”: International Women’s Day March 8, 2012

On March 8, the world celebrates International Women’s Day. This year the UN’s theme is ‘Empower Rural Women – End Hunger and Poverty’. In St. Vincent and the Grenadines, rural women, especially, those engaged in farming play a critical role in sustaining livelihoods by not only providing food for their families’ consumption but also producing surpluses for distribution to local and even export markets. It is these women who on small plots of land epitomize agricultural diversification. They have been able to feed, clothe and educate their children very often single-handedly from these plots.

On Sunday I decided to make some potato pudding to satisfy my sweet tooth. I am also still going through my " Happy to see an oven" phase.

I got two large potatoes and began grating them on one of the small sides of the grater but that was taking too long so I tried a larger side. Well that just did not look right to me.
