I need a man!

It is no lie that young children are violated by men AND women.

However, it appears to me that men tend to be in the majority as it relates to sex offenders.

Recently, I've had a few short conversations with some men I admire and one thing they've all said has stuck with me- men are needed in the fight to end the sexual exploitation of women and children.

For years now the only persons to highlight this issue have been women.

I need a man who is willing to tell his friend who preys on underage girl that he is a pedophile instead of making him feel like he has ranks, like he cool.

I need a man who will turn to his father, uncle or friend and let him know that hitting his woman is a sign of cowardice, not strength.

I need a man who will speak up for the little child next door because he knows exactly what their grandparent, mother,  father,  brother, sister puts them through.

I need a man who is brave enough to run home the 'book pon back' when they walk into the bar on a Friday evening or Saturday night and rebuke the bartender who thinks that as long as they have money they could have a drink.

I could go on and on about all the reasons I need a man but perhaps the most important thing is- I need a man to see how important he is in ending the violence in his society. I need a man who is willing to protect the women and children around him.

Very well!! This needs to be shared among the socialists and activists so that proper measures are proposed to overcome this non sense which keeps growing up in the community.

Really like this piece...something I'm passionate about especially having young daughters....in our society we remain silent when older "men" prey on our young girls as if its kool...

  4. Indeed. Maybe then, we will see change and men would listen.
