Better to Come!

Yesterday I ran into an old friend of mine. A guy I had not spoken to in more than 8 years, so we took the chance to talk about a few things, and about everything.

During the conversation he lamented on what he called a "foolish and hasty decision" he made a few years ago. I listened, smiled (as I always do, right Dianna lol), and then reminded him that "all things work for good". His response? I shall share that with you now.

He said: yes that is true, but sometimes instead of allowing things to unfold, we try to make things happen, to make them into what we really want to have.

True, right?

We do this all the time with relationships, jobs, people, things; we get our hearts and minds so set on a thing that we become convinced that it must be for us. This must be the relationship, job, or car that you are supposed to have; simply because you ran out of patience. You grow tired of waiting for it to all make sense so you start making sense out of it yourself.

It is like when  you go into a store and you buy that shoe that catches your eye even though the sales clerk says; "wait until next week we having a sale". There is hog screaming in the background "bathe in the first water you meet", so you grab it. It is not even the colour you wanted, but it would do. Sure enough, the following week, there is the shoe half off in your favourite shade of red. There really was better to come!

It is never easy figuring out the things we are supposed to wait for and the things that are really for us, we just have to be diligent I suppose, and true to ourselves, because there ARE times when we know that with a little more patience we will get better.

Believe that there is better to come!
