Happiness

It's amazing how everyone seems to know what will make you happy, isn't it?

You need a bigger house, come on you can't actually be comfortable in that three bedroom house.  And your car is that really the best you can do, I am sure you can find something flashier.  Let me not even talk about the shoe you are wearing it is probably the ugliest shoe I have ever seen.

You get up each day and that simple act of opening your eyes and SEEING makes you all warm inside; it's another day to enjoy the splendor around you.  Today is not going to be an easy day, there are meetings to attend, coworkers to annoy you and you are afraid that by the end of the day somebody would have 'mashed your corn'.  Through it all you still seem to be happy because you know life can be much worse for you.

You find pleasure in the simple things in life and wished that those around you would also. Keeping up with the Jones was never on your agenda.  You are quite aware of your worth and your potential. It matters not what standards the world judges you by your aim is happiness.

You have decided a long time ago that happiness was not rolled up in material things.  You learned on your own that you can either decide on being happy or allow yourself to be sucked dry by bitter people.  You know better than anyone that your happiness really is intangible, it can not be bought in a store and there is not a soul alive who can give it to you.

Happiness is that which you own because you are among the few who have learnt that joy is all around us and peace is forever our companion.

Happiness could only live in a heart that is held by an INDEPENDENT soul; a soul that has learnt to shape its own destiny, its own legacy.
