WE ARE THE CARIBBEAN: Panel Discussion & Celebration

Weschester - The WE ARE THE CARIBBEAN: Panel Discussion & Celebration of Caribbean-American Heritage Month will be held on Saturday June 2, 2012 at 2PM at The Theater inside of Piccolo’s Bookstore, located at 6081 Center Drive, Weschester, CA 90045, (Howard Hughes Parkway & Sepulveda Blvd).

Caribbean-American Heritage Month was established in 2006, when President George Bush signed the bill into law. The purpose of that bill and this gathering is to acknowledge the lasting contributions of Caribbean-Americans. The goal of the event is to increase the visibility of Los Angeles’s distinctively vibrant Caribbean community and pay homage to our rich history and heritage.

Speakers will include Caribbean and Caribbean-American authors, educators, entrepreneurs, entertainers, and community advocates who will share the own experiences, insights, and will respond to questions from the audience. Our panels will include: Educators & Associations and Entrepreneurs, Entertainers, & Artist.

The event is FREE to the public. We invite all to come out, bring their flags, and be prepared to celebrate, network, and become an active part of the Caribbean community
