Tonight five thirty something year old women sat around a kitchen table reminiscing on "Convent days", laughing, snickering and just having a good old time.
In the space of about 4 hours or less five years were flipped through like pages in a book, but this was no ordinary book. This book contained the individual and collective hopes and dreams of over 400 students; it contained stories of weird teachers and delinquent students. It told of girls who played tricks on nuns and told ridiculous tales to avoid detention. This book was bursting at the seams with secrets held for years secrets and revealed them tonight without even being coaxed.
As these five women talked and laughed they remembered how grown they felt at fifteen and how much they longed for less restrictions, but seventeen years later they are truly thankful that they had rules and restrictions to keep them in line.
Seventeen years later it all makes sense life is a journey and if you go too fast you might not experience the joy of each stage, I suppose they are all grown up now.
All grown up!!
