Men Who Cheat:
I was speaking to a good friend last night who made the statement that women in a certain country have seemingly resigned themselves to the 'fact' that ' all men cheat'. These women would therefore date a man even if they have evidence that he is cheating on them. They have no problem whatsoever putting up with his mediocrity, because they have convinced themselves that all men are cheaters. It is one thing if your spouse cheats on you once, but if cheating becomes a habit would you simply sit back and accept it?
Never be afraid to tell your story.
There will always be those who are simply looking for gossip, but there will always be someone who is looking for inspiration.
You might think that there is nothing unique or special about your journey, but the fact is those are reasons to share your story.
We go through the same things. As the saying goes, "today for me, tomorrow for you".
Be aware of the frailty of the human condition.
Be willing to help someone along the journey.
Be strong enough to understand that you are not perfect.
Be bold enough to show your imperfections now and then.
Some of the best friendships are formed in times when we are able to show how 'human' we are.

Today after work, I stood at LIME waiting for a van. We had a meeting at school so I was there quite late.
A car sped by, but stopped quickly. I turned to see what had caused them to stop.
Out pops one of my former students.
She comes over, "Good night Miss King, Happy belated birthday."
Then she gives me THE BEST HUG ever.
Why was it THE BEST HUG ever?

Why was it THE BEST HUG ever?
Her eyes compelled them to stare, and her mouth laughed
at the madness.
What was she to do with this yearning that forced her to
make prey
Men who would become ensnared in her aura?
She never invited them in, she was never a hunter.
But, seemingly her very presence was enough to awaken
primal urges.
She had once asked a lover what made him fall in love
with her,
He had become animated like a child recounting a trip to
the beach,
For him it was everything about her.
She who had always seen imperfection in herself
Found his response trite, it could not possibly be
everything.
But, he insisted,
So she gave up.
She was interested in him, and convinced herself that she
loved him.
She did nice things for him, nice, that was his word.
He loved her.
He had once bragged to his friends that he had found his
bride.
She was never as sure as he was.
They lasted for about two years, and she went into a
season of deep poetry.
She hid herself from the world.
They thought that she was heart -broken.
She wrote some of her best poems during that time.
During the past three or so weeks I have been constantly reminding myself that it is important to set high standards and to try my best to maintain them.
[...]
I did not say to set impossible standards and die trying to live up to crazy ideals.
You set high standards when you understand that you are meant for great things.
You do not remain in a mediocre job, or relationship because you understand that you are worthy of better.
You push for excellence in your academic career, on the job, and in your relationships.
No situation will every be perfect and we won't ever get it all, but guess what, there is no reason for us to suffer through life.
When a situation or a relationship is below the standards you have set for yourself be bold and courageous enough to walk away.
Know that if He brought you to it He will take you beyond.
You just have to move.
Never settle for second best.
